...life in small Northern towns, working for assholes, boys who refuse to become men, synthetic personalities, anorexic models and their link to emotional scarring, bad marijuana trips, crazies on BC Transit, beer, piece of shit cars, living out of a suitcase paycheck to paycheck, unrequited love, Seinfeld, minimum-wage jobs, broken New Years resolutions, and over-limit Visa accounts.

On the mend... Salutations, Friends. Well, as you know I've been ill and between that and Damain's work schedule, we've been sticking pretty close to the home base area since I got here... All that's about to change, however, since he's just finished his last day at work for the next couple weeks, and I'm finally on the mend. We're leaving tomorrow to travel North to the Sunshine Coast and crash Kate & Luke's private party. As I'd indicated in my last entry, we were set to go to the big Rugby game in Brisbane last Saturday night... we did indeed go, and although Australia lost to "Those Smelly Kiwis" we still had a fabulous time all decked out in our Wallabies gear and soaking up the atmosphere. "Atmosphere" included hard-core fans on both sides, such as this guy sitting in front of us... The pre-game build-up was pretty sensational. Maybe the Yanks out there reading can relate to this sort of fanfare for sports, what with highschool and college football games, etc..., but we Canucks are very green when it comes to this sort of thing. I mean, I've been to a Canucks game, but it's nothing like this Rugby match for build-up and heightened emotion in the fans... it was crazy (but in a good way...). Anyway, I had a great time - it was definitely an experience and one that I was especially lucky to have, considering that this particular match is usually played down south... What else...??? Hmmm... well, Damo and I went in to Surfer's Paradise to walk along the beach at sunset - how incredibly beautiful was that? Amazing... So... that's pretty well it for me, kids. I'm gonna sign off so that we can go out and explore whatever today has to offer... spending time with my Damian instead of with my computer (RYAN!) while I can... Miss you all & love you too... xoxo, |
