...life in small Northern towns, working for assholes, boys who refuse to become men, synthetic personalities, anorexic models and their link to emotional scarring, bad marijuana trips, crazies on BC Transit, beer, piece of shit cars, living out of a suitcase paycheck to paycheck, unrequited love, Seinfeld, minimum-wage jobs, broken New Years resolutions, and over-limit Visa accounts.

An Ode to Brian... I'm a superstitious person - I think I've admitted this before - but don't you think it's odd that things really do come in three's? Or is it just negative/bad/sad things that come thus bundled??? Our family has just suffered its third lost loved one in nine months (9 divided by 3 = 3)... This time, it was my cousin Brian who was marked by the reaper. Poor Brian - taken far too young at 28 years old... at least he went out smiling and doing what he loved. Bri was out with 3 friends for a scenic plane ride over Glacier National Park (Montana) when his plane fell of the radar and went missing. After three days of searching (another 3!), the plane was located - there were no surviors. I know that everyone says this when a loved one passes - especially the young ones - but there is no justice in the reaper's selection. It's just not fair. Why always take the good ones???? Brian truly was a magnificent being; a beautiful person with an unparalleled zest for life and love of the planet. His musical talents astounded me everytime I was fortunate enough to witness them, and over the past week and a half I have witnessed how many lives he touched in his short time here. The outpouring of love and obvious impact on his community is evidenced on his Facebook wall, and by the barrage of visitors descending upon my Aunt and Uncle's home. For Brian - for his parents and siblings, for his friends and classmates, for all of us who knew him - I am gutted to lose him, and am still in a state of dumbfounded shock that he is gone. A message that Brian sent to me back in February... Brian Williams February 26 at 10:56pm
