...life in small Northern towns, working for assholes, boys who refuse to become men, synthetic personalities, anorexic models and their link to emotional scarring, bad marijuana trips, crazies on BC Transit, beer, piece of shit cars, living out of a suitcase paycheck to paycheck, unrequited love, Seinfeld, minimum-wage jobs, broken New Years resolutions, and over-limit Visa accounts.

MEDIC! MEDIC!!! Ah... the gods. They're a funny bunch of kids, the way they toy with me... I LOVE IT! ...not. Yeah, so, I'm sick. Tonsilitis, to be exact. Isn't that something that little kids get??? I've never had tonsilitis in my life! What's up with that??? So I'm feeling pretty kip the last couple of days, and today particularly bad. Damo took me to his doctor today and I'm now hooked up with some drugs, which is fabulous although I'm still pissed that I fell ill while in Oz. BUGGER! There's always a catch... Damo thought I should take a pic of my nasty-ass red throat and the big globs of white phlem-or-whatever-the-hell-it-is stuck to the sides back there... icky. I thought I'd spare you though... (you're welcome) Just finished watching the nastiest, goriest, most graphic depiction of a murder I've ever seen... Damian and I were watching "Wolf Creek" a movie based on actual events surrounding the abduction of two British girls and an Aussie guy, and the murders of the two girls. Pretty fecking brutal. In fact, we turned it off. I made it past the initial beatings, chasings, and even so far as the stabbing of the one girl... but when the psycho first cut off her fingers and then severed her spinal column, I decided that was probably enough to tide me over for another few years in the gore department. Blech. I guess I'm not built "Ford Tough" after all. Bingle. So, being sick, I haven't really got too much to report. Damian worked yesterday and is back tomorrow and Saturday before we get to head up to Brisbane for the big Rugby match vs. New Zealand (smelly Kiwis, I've been told...). Pretty pumped about all of that, but I'd better be feeling at the top of my game by then or I'll be one seriously pissed off patriot! Speaking of patriots, has anyone out there heard about this guy from Saskatchewan who started out with a red paperclip and traded it for a pen and then continued trading-up on ebay until he finally wound up with a house??? I just heard about it on the radio this morning; he was being interviewed by an Aussie radio station. How crazy is that?? Hmm... I wonder if I can scrounge around and find a red paperclip. Another tosser with a crazy idea rolling around in his monster pile of winnings. Goddamn this unequal distribution of wealth. And intelligence. And cunning. Where was I when these things were being handed out so freely??? Meanwhile I sit here with my pussing tonsils. Mmmmmm... pretty. Ma and Pa are heading down to Coeur d'Alene, ID in a couple days & taking a couple of the 'brats' along with them. Goin' down for a double-whammy family reunion... both sides of the family have decided to hold the reunions simultaneously... This is the first family event that I haven't attended in years; I'm usually the family ambassador to these sorts of things - Vancouver is about 12 hours closer than BL, so I try to attend whenever I can. Bit unfortunate that I'm not there this time around - there are a few people I'd love to see, although I don't need a reunion to see them... Does any of this make sense? Am I as delerious in my writing as I think I am??? I feel crap. A bit dizzy, feverish and exhausted, so think this is probably a good time to sign off... hope this finds you all well out there. Be kind to yourselves always, and to eachother whenever possible... Big hugs and kisses to you all... |
